DJ Assistant Position - Currently Hiring

We are seeking a friendly and hardworking individual to join our team as a DJ Assistant. As a DJ Assistant, you will work closely with our professional DJ to ensure the smooth execution of various events and performances. Your primary responsibility will be to assist with communication, playing music, set up and tear down, and to help create an exceptional experience for our clients and guests.

Responsibilities:

  1. Set up and dismantle DJ equipment: Assist in the setup and breakdown of DJ equipment, including speakers, turntables, mixers, microphones, and lighting system.

  2. Sound checks and troubleshooting: Conduct sound checks prior to events and troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise during performances.

  3. Music selection and playlist curation: Collaborate with the DJ to create tailored playlists that suit the event or client's preferences. Assist in selecting appropriate songs and managing music transitions during performances.

  4. Event coordination: Assist in coordinating event logistics, such as coordinating with venue staff, managing equipment transportation, and ensuring timely arrivals and setups.

  5. Crowd interaction: Engage with the crowd during performances by taking requests, making announcements, and creating a lively atmosphere. Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor at all times.

  6. Equipment maintenance: Ensure proper care and maintenance of DJ equipment, including cleaning, organizing, and inventory management.

Requirements:

  1. Experience: Prior experience as a musician or sound tech preferred but not required. Willingness to learn and adapt is essential.

  2. Technical knowledge: Basic understanding of sound equipment and an ear for music quality is desirable.

  3. Music knowledge: Fair knowledge of various music genres and a passion for staying up-to-date with current music trends.

  4. Communication skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients, guests, and other event staff.

  5. Organization and multitasking: Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, while paying attention to detail and maintaining a high level of accuracy.

  6. Physical stamina: Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment as required during setup and breakdown.

  7. Dependability: Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.

  8. Availability: Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as events and performances often take place during these times.
